Our Minister

Our Minister is Charles Finnie, and he has been here since 1997

It is 2015, and instead of looking to do the same things which we did in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and last year, we have the opportunity to do something new.

In the bible the prophet Isaiah proclaims of God:
" See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am making a way in the wilderness, and streams in the wasteland"

In fact in the verse just before it God says:

"Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past"

I believe that God is offering the opportunity to anyone who would listen "Step forward. Go beyond where you are now! Go on, you can do it - the next step into more of what I have to offer is just that - a step."

Stepping away from the things that would tie you to the past dependencies, or negative outcomes, or troublesome activities is what God is offering - both to those who are not sure about Him, and those who are seeking to walk with Him.  The voice of God keeps on saying to us "Come!"

The offer of God is to get close to Him, not in some weird psyched out way, but in gentle restoring to us of His image in us that we might be full of love, not swamped by our past experiences, and ever ready to step further into what He wants for us.

Isaiah 43, where these two earlier sentences come from, begins with: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you.  I have summoned you by name, you are mine."

He knows who we are, and all He is looking for from us is a step closer to Him.  Let this new year be a time when you move from that which has always been - into that which is new, and is of God....
